With the view to increase the income and access to better employment we concentrate on developing the skills of person with disabilities in different aspects.  The Computer Centre based in the community which offers a 3 months Basic Foundation course and 6 months Desk Top Publishing course.

The centre was basically initiated for Persons with disabilities, later we found more number of people who are interested to learn computers and are enrolling for the courses.

Most of students from the poor socio economic background especially youth with disabilities, young girls and women are accessing the centre. On finishing the course they have been able to find placements in various companies as computer operators. Till date, over 500 people have been trained at the centre.

Children fascinated & listening intently to their computer lesson

A school awareness programme was conducted in Illiyasnagar Higher Urdu Government School(Banashankari Slum Area) on common ailments. 140 children along with their teachers participated in the programme. Basic hygiene and cleanliness tips were given to the children to prevent frequent illnesses and infections. Dr. Deepti from St. John’s facilitated the session. The interactive session that followed raised the awareness and interest levels of all the participants left the teachers and students asking for more such programmes.
