A
convention
of Disabled Self Help Groups(SHGs) was held
on 20th
Dec-09 at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Stadium,
Chamarajanagara.
A
Rally of the SHGs was inaugurated by Dr. T.D Pawar
I.P.S., Superintendent
of Police of the district.
Over 2000 SHG members participated in the rally.The
program was inagurated by Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena IAS.,
Commissioner,
Cham arajanagara District. The event
was presided by Mr. N Prem Kumar, President of Kalpavruskha Mahasangha,Kasaba Hobli.
The entire programme was organized by the SHG members. CEC
tutors,Government School teachers,SDMC members,Gram Pachyath
memebers, ELO staff members were part of the event.
The CEC tutor of Doddarayapete Mrs.Doddamma, member of
Divyashree SHG welcomed everyone. One of the representatives of
the Mahasangha spoke about the activities & achievements in the
past three years. Mr.Prem Kumar, who presided over the
Convention, put forth few demands to the Government officials
present at the programme. Cultural events were also part of the
program to bring in more beauty to the convention.
A street play was held at the end of the event Swami Vivekananda
team Shidlaghatta depicting about the rights of disabled.
