Mobility India began its mobile workshop facilities in September 1996. Through a mobile workshop, services can be made available over large distances and definite changes ensured in the person’s life through provision of appropriate assistive device. Making and repairs of assistive devices can be done at the doorstep. Training to use the device can be ensured by building parallel bars.

The simple but unique concept is used to reach out to children and people with disabilities who cannot have access to rehabilitation facilities in remote area. The jeep is converted into a mobile workshop with necessary accessories and moves into the deeper areas of villages where our partners are working. The mobile workshop on wheels is stationed for couple of days in the villages and the makeshift workshop is utilized to assemble and fit rehabilitation aids and appliances with necessary training.
