Resource
Person:
Ms. Beryl Kelsey, an International Halliwick Association lecturer,
has volunteered herself to train the members.
Course
description:
The aim of the course is to train the instructors to have knowledge
of and practice a concept of teaching of all ages with special needs
to be as competent and independent as possible in water. Many
people with disabilities though there would love to swim but there
are not adequate trainers who could train them, so they are deprived
from enjoying the swimming, Mobility India in collaboration with
Halliwick Association have decided to train people who would in turn
train people with special needs of all ages to learn swimming.
Participants:
13 participants attended the workshop; they were Orthotists and Prosthetists, Physiotherapist, occupational therapist, sports
teachers, physical trainer and educators.
We would be
very happy to share the skill and knowledge of training the members
in Hydrotherapy with anyone who is interested to help persons with
disabilities in the water; this includes lay people such as family
members as well as professional people.
We would like
to give our special thanks to the management of Jyothy School for
supporting us with the logistics to achieve our goal etc… those who
are interested in next batch can contact Academic Coordinator:
