The faculty has the experience of sharing technical skills and expertise with other low –income countries in Asia and Africa.

They have made significant contributions to research and development in prosthetic & orthotic technology and components. They have vast teaching experience to cater to the theoretical and practical training needs of the students. Visiting faculty from various fields of medical, engineering, allied health and social development also conduct the training. Periodically, guest faculty from other national and international training schools are also invited.
The trainers utilize a participatory approach to learning which helps the students to develop knowledge, attitude and skills to carry out their professional roles efficiently. A variety of strategies and methods are used to ensure that all the students have equal opportunities to learn. Through exposure to live models and varied disabling conditions the students will get ample opportunities to sharpen their practical knowledge and skills. Student performances are assessed on a regular basis and the progress monitored. Students are encouraged to seek extra help form their personal tutors outside lesson times. Special attention is placed on development of a positive attitude towards people with disabilities.

A modern prosthetic and orthotic workshop that can fabricate and assemble all kinds of simple to advanced technology assistive devices is available for developing practical skills. A Therapy unit to provide functional therapy, physical therapy using equipments and electrical modalities is available for therapy inputs for students. Attached to this is a Community Development programme where the focus is on physical and social rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Through this the students would get opportunities to work with varied disabling conditions and plan appropriate rehabilitation.

The centre has a fully equipped library with arrange of learning resources which include books, audio- visual and internet facilities. This complete rehabilitation infrastructure set –up will help the student to understand interdisciplinary approach. Click here for more facilities
