About Rehabilitation Therapy
Rehabilitation therapy assistants work with developmentally disabled patients to help regain their physical, social and mental abilities through therapeutic activities and exercises. Other responsibilities of rehabilitation therapist assistants include carrying out basic assessment, providing therapy intervention, documenting the client's progress and designing aids for overall development of children with disabilities. With the boom in the healthcare industry, qualified candidates could find success in varied settings providing therapeutic activities under the supervision of therapists.
Course Desciption

The Rehabilitation Therapist Assistant (RTA) is a skilled health-care worker who performs the intervention plan of person with disability. On completion of training the person will be familiar with different types of disabilities, carry out basic assessment and intervention, interact with families and the community to address social causes of disability and change attitudes.

Duration : 12 Months

 

Accreditation

Granted Accreditation Status by the Rehabilitation Council of India (a statutory body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India) since its beginning in 2002.
Career Options
Rehabilitation Therapy Assistants would work in multi-disciplinary health care teams. There is a great demand for RTA’s especially in developing countries. Employment opportunities are found in community rehabilitation centers, hospitals, outpatient clinics, NGO’s, schools (special & integrated) and governmental institutions.
