One day program on Health and Education related to Intellectual disability  

A Health and Education program for people with Intellectual disability was jointly organized by District Disabled Welfare Department and Mobility India on Saturday 30th May 09 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Officers from District Administrative, Women and Child Welfare Department and 60 participants including people with intellectual disability and their parents were part of the programme. The event was Inaugurated by Mrs. Radha Deputy Director Women and Child Welfare and Mr.Jayram District disabled welfare officer. Mrs. Radha shared the facilities available from the department for people with intellectual disability.

Dr. Ravish Physiatrist- KR Hospital Mysore was the resource person who gave a brief introduction to the causes of intellectual disability and also explained about the prevention and precautionary measures in order to look after the people with intellectual disability. The participants also shared their difficulties and issues faced by people with intellectual disability.
