Orientation Training Program in Chamrajnagar
Two day
training program was organized on 7th & 8th
of April
‘09 for Visually Impaired people at Krishi Vignyana Kendra,
Haradanahalli in Chamarajanagar. The main objective of the
training was to improve their skills, confidence and positive
outlook. 12 Community and Self Help Group members participated
in the programme.
Mr. Natraj,
the resource person, provided a hands-on training to the
participants on use of foldable and non-foldable canes in a
simulated environment to get better personal independence,
skills for their daily living, orientation and mobility. The
training program was helpful to the beneficiaries to learn
independently without any support from their family members.
One of the
participants said “The training has brought in a very
good improvement while walking using the cane. It has also
helped to walk without hesitation or fear”. |
